Not far from the towns of Pont-Aven, Quimperl\u00e9 and Concarneau, you’ll discover “Les Grands Sables”, a beach that has retained its charm of yesteryear. This place of relaxation was the cradle of the seaside resort where the first bathers appeared in the 1850s. It’s a popular beach for families with children.<\/p>

Bellangenet beach is also close to the campsite. It’s the biggest and undoubtedly busiest of the surrounding beaches, and is perfectly equipped (large parking lot, PRM ramp, SNSM lifeguard post in July and August).<\/p>

For the more adventurous, Le K\u00e9rou beach is an ideal spot for surfers. Thanks to the low gradient of the beach, long swell trains break and the waves have a tubular shape. Le K\u00e9rou welcomes around 300 surfers year-round and 600 in summer.<\/p>

Sailing enthusiasts will be delighted by the sailing center at Le Pouldu, which offers sailing courses all year round. Located close to Pont-aven, Quimperl\u00e9 and Lorient, Camping de Locouarn offers hikers and nature lovers the famous GR34 hiking trail through Clohars-Carno\u00ebt. There’s also a signposted mountain bike trail from the campsite to the coast.<\/p>

Also known as the Sentier des Douaniers<\/strong>, this 1,700-kilometre route was created in the 18th century to combat smuggling. You can discover the magnificent port of Do\u00eblan on its left and right banks, from which you can then head off to admire the beautiful sandy beaches.<\/p>

You can also appreciate the variety of coastal landscapes, with their magnificent cliffs, sandy beaches and, above all, their jewels: the rias. Between Quimperl\u00e9 and Clohars-Carno\u00ebt lies the Toulfo\u00ebn forest, a veritable haven of peace where you can recharge your batteries. A former ducal and then royal forest, it’s full of legends, not least that it was once the lair of Conomor, a bloodthirsty Breton king who killed all his wives as soon as they bore him a child.<\/p>

Although the legend is rather gloomy, the Toulfo\u00ebn forest is first and foremost a marvellous natural site, filled with the scents of the undergrowth, where you can go for real hikes along the La\u00efta river and numerous streams.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Lovers of fine stonework and parks can visit theAbbaye Saint-Maurice<\/a> and its wooded park in Clohars-Carno\u00ebt.<\/p>\n\n

The ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of Saint-Maurice stand on the right bank of the La\u00efta river, in the Carno\u00ebt forest. Abbot Maurice Duault of Langonnet Abbey was responsible for founding it in 1177, on land donated by Conan IV, Duke of Brittany.<\/p>\n\n

The park and exhibitions can be visited in a protected natural setting. On a guided or self-guided tour, you can discover the history of the historic buildings, the oldest of which date back to the 13th century, learn about the life of Cistercian monks in the Middle Ages in the permanent exhibition, and admire the silhouette of the centuries-old redwoods.<\/p>\n\n

Classified as landscape and owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, the abbey site of Saint Maurice is also a place for observing flora and fauna, an environment combining sea and forest.<\/p>\n\n

Thanks to a unique infrared camera, you can observe the protected colony of bats living in the attic of the Abbot’s dwelling. An exhibition explains the amazing lives of these little-known mammals.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
