Location de mobil-homes Sud Finistère

A word from management

The campsite is a wonderful place, accessible to all thanks to its low cost and the flexibility of the stays on offer. Friendly thanks to a personalized welcome, conducive to sharing with other campers and rejuvenating thanks to its location in the surrounding environment. As a small, traditional and independent campsite, I strive to pass on these values by offering you a stay in perfect harmony with nature.

The Locouarn campsite is located in the countryside 2 km from the seaside resort of Le Pouldu in south Finistère. With its generous flora and fauna, the site offers very large pitches that are entirely and harmoniously planted, mobile homes spaced out from each other and numerous meadow areas for your activities and games.

A lifelong camper and nature enthusiast, I’ve been committed to preserving and enhancing this exceptional area since I bought the campsite in 2017.

After a few years learning my trade as a campsite manager, I feel the time has come to better structure the sustainable development approach summarized in our ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY.

Our achievements

Enriching biodiversity

Since 2018, the grounds have been entirely chemical-free. The work is carried out manually, mechanically or thermally (reusing the ends of gas cylinders used for mobile homes). What’s more, all routine cleaning is carried out using eco-labelled products.

To encourage biodiversity, areas of meadow have been preserved with minimum maintenance, and new plantings have been chosen for their spring and autumn flowering, and in the spirit of diversifying the species representative of Brittany. We also installed an insect hotel and a bird nesting box, and planted flowers that are popular with foraging insects.

Apples, chestnuts, mushrooms, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants and aromatic herbs are available for you to find on the campsite.

Nearly 4 tons of apples are produced and picked by a local cider-maker.

Controlling power consumption

The campsite’s swimming pool, open in high season, is heated entirely by solar energy (greenhouse pipes), with no electricity consumption. As far as lighting is concerned, we use 70% low-energy bulbs, and our common areas are either equipped with autonomous photovoltaic bollards for beaconing, motion detectors or are controlled by programmed clocks. All electricity purchased by the campsite is 100% renewable.

Controlling water consumption

All the campsite’s communal sanitary facilities are equipped with water-saving devices (showers, washbasins, dishwashing and laundry basins, WCs and urinals).

Mobile home taps are fitted with aerators and showers with water-saving showerheads.

Apart from the flower boxes at the entrance to the campsite, we don’t water anything on the campsite. 50% of our flower boxes are equipped with water reservoirs, and the rare watering takes place exclusively in the morning and evening.

Waste reduction and recovery

“In collaboration with Quimperlé Communauté, we have set up a complete composting solution. On arrival, you will be offered a bio-bucket to collect your food waste during your stay. We’ll explain how to use them (what to put in them, where to empty them, etc.) and give you instructions for use. There are 3 signposted collection areas on the campsite, where you can empty your bio-bucket and homogenize the input with wood shavings (produced on the campsite). Finally, a ripening area is used to finalize the compost that will be used for planting.

Selective sorting is strongly encouraged and explained on arrival. You will be given selective sorting bags provided by Quimperlé communauté, which are also available for self-service at reception. All sorting instructions are also available in the mobile homes, in the garbage can area at the campsite entrance and printed directly on the recycling bags.

Special waste such as batteries, light bulbs, printer cartridges, household appliances, bulky items: let’s talk about it – we’ve got a solution!

From bread bags to eyeglass cases to beach bags, come and discover our creation of bags made from curtains recovered from the renovation of mobile homes in 2019. Thank you Sylvie for your achievements.

Green waste generated by the 3.5-hectare campsite is managed entirely on site. Some of it is added to the compost (grass clippings and small plants), while a larger portion is shredded. The shredded material is then used for composting and mulching, while the rest decomposes naturally in a special decomposition area.

Our projects

Since autumn 2021, the campsite has been involved in the European Eco-Label certification process.

This project involves an inventory of the practices and products used and generated by the campsite, the implementation of an Environmental Management System associated with an annually-reviewed progress plan, and an important part devoted to communication and raising awareness among staff and customers.

In addition, to qualify for the “Accueil Rando” label, the campsite will be partnering with a local restaurateur to offer picnic baskets.

In terms of fun and communication with our customers, we plan to create a treasure hunt-type activity to help them discover the campsite through the prism of Sustainable Development.

To reduce water consumption, we plan to install rainwater harvesters.
